Best & Must UK Students' Apps

There are titanic quantities of apps for every need.

There are thoughtfully organised apps for students, from effective note-taking during lectures to saving money for food, shopping, & travel. Doesn't it sound interesting and fun? Let me tell you the apps I use regularly. There will be a separate post for the Student's Academic Apps. Watch my space!!

University App (MyUoL)

This is a great app which I have been using from Day one to check the timesheet, to track the books borrowed from Uni library, to locate the lecture theatre, MS Teams, MS One Drive, etc., It acts as a single app to access all Uni needs.

UNiDAYS

You must not miss this app. Login to this app with Uni ID, and you will get a lot of discounts for Food & Drink, Fashion, Technology, Beauty,  etc. I purchased my MacBook from the Apple Store through this app with a good student discount. Isn't it unbelievable? You can also get free Amazon Prime, and much more. All big companies provide a lot of offers for students, so let us try to save a few bucks.

Student Beans

This is also another app, like UNiDAYS and provides similar offers. With this, you can get McD offers, but not Burger King (Giggles).

eventbrite

Isn't it important to increase the network while studying in an international university? This app allows you to book different events happening in the UK. I'm rigorously waiting for one of the events organised by Leicester students which takes students to South Wales as a group. I guess a few of the events are organised by students, but it allows them to bring family members & friends. Watch this space religiously to thrive in the communities.

Splitwise

As most of us have been living with friends or will go out with friends, tracking and getting money back is an awkward task. But, this app makes all the expenses correctly accounted for, all friends can be added into the group to view all the expenses,  to split the amount among them, etc.,  Also, it makes life easy to get the money back by sending reminders by email or text.

Google Maps/Trainline

It is not only used for navigation but also for public transportation, such as from where to board the bus or tube and where to get down. Ensure that you listen carefully to the instructions announced while traveling on the tube because you might not have the network coverage on the tube. I had faced this terrific situation while traveling from King's Cross to Piccadilly in London, so I was carefully listening to the announcements and looking at the station names through windows. You can also use 'Trainline' to book tickets online to travel on the tube. From my experience, I found that both Google Maps and Trainline updated the tube's status instantly. It's your call now!!
