Why University of Leicester?

The surge of thirst towards the forefront of computer science had induced me to pursue my masters in Advanced Computer Science eventually. The avid learner in me had also pushed my boundary to attain deep knowledge in the field, so I felt that it is the right time to upgrade my skills to have a global perspective.

Sitting on the couch back in India, I was contemplating

'Will I be able to study in top ranked research-led universities in UK?'

'Will I be able to hear lectures from the voice of distinguished staffs sitting in an elegant seminar halls and get access to sophisticated laboratories & libraries?'

These varying questions struck on me hardly.

Carrying the above said reasons, the esteemed British literature and the heavily loaded opportunities surrounding the Leicester city also made me fallen for 'University of Leicester'.

As a pragmatic person, I always seek the nuances of analysing and strategising for highly reliable and long term growth with a disciplined technique. Hence, I was more interested in these broad menu of modules in Advanced Computer Science course.

Choosing the modules was engrossing, and sometimes I felt why I'm not allowed to choose all the modules. This seems a bit of a nerd, but it is.

Designing a complex system is enthralling, but the problems occurring in these systems are tricky. As I love system designing, I'm delighted to have 'Computational Intelligence & Software Engineering' in the course. Without the low level and high level design, it's hard to move to the coding phase, so studying 'Service Oriented Architecture' will be salient to design.

Moreover,  most of the modern languages have in-built support for concurrency, but modeling a concurrent system is of paramount importance in today's world.

Similarly, having been a C programmer, I want to structure the 'mental model' software with the knowledge of OOPS, so C++ is as good a place any to start. Notably, deciphering the puzzle is my favorite hobby, so does the module 'Foundations of Cybersecurity'.

Cloud is omnipresent, and there is considerably still a room for improvement that precisely tells us plenty of job opportunities. Besides, learning about cloud with the combination of agile automation is the need of hour. Furthermore, studying about cloud scalability in 'Advanced Web Technologies' is my another pick.

I would say the technology will be a sort of sloth if proper algorithm wasn't in a place. Like a hardcore developer, I hand-picked the module 'Analysis of Algorithms'. Also, I'm totally new to the hot topic 'Big Data', but I often wonder how the internet feeds my interests accurately. Therefore, I ended up studying its predictive analysis and the efficient data processing.

Though I loved 90% of the modules, I had to choose only 7 modules for this academic year.

Ultimately, I decided to devour 100% of my time to make my goals more creditable in the university.  Uni life will live more than up to my expectation. The City of Melange (Leicester) too!!!
