"The Prophet" was written ninety-seven years ago, so this turned as the first classical book I ever read. It is a collection of essays over twenty-six topics written as proses and of the best-selling books that have sold over 11 million copies worldwide, it's one of them.
It gave immense insight into life with a bundle of deep thoughts, and it was profound. At first, I was totally wrong about completing this short book in a few hours.
You must literally shut the door and read it because Kahlil's musings shouldn't be interrupted. Some of the essays were obscure, so I thought of reading it again after a few years, but I found myself continuously savouring it which kept my sanity in stake in this pandemic situation.
One must be experienced the situation to comprehend the proses, but it will unquestionably make you step out from the life we live with the predefined social norms.
I wasn't able to pull out a few quotes because the entire book contains full of famous and heartfelt quotes, yet I did.
"Love has no other desire but to fulfil itself." - on Love
"Fill each other's cup but drink not from one cup." - on Marriage
"You may give them your love but not your thoughts." - on Children
"It is well to give when asked, but it is better to give unasked, through understanding." - on Giving
"If you cannot work with love but only with distaste, it is better that you should leave your work and sit at the gate of the temple and take alms of those who work with joy." - on Work
"The deeper that sorrow carves into your being, the more joy you can contain." - on Joy and Sorrow
"Your clothes conceal much of your beauty, yet they hide not the unbeautiful." - on Clothes
"The wrong-doer cannot do wrong without the hidden will of you all." - on Crime and Punishment
"You shall be free indeed when your days are not without a care nor your nights without a want and a grief, But rather when these things girdle your life and yet you rise above them naked and unbound." - on Freedom
"Much of your pain is self-chosen" - on Pain
"If he is indeed wise he does not bid you enter the house of his wisdom, but rather leads you to the threshold of your own mind". - on Teaching
"Seek him always with hours to live. For it is his to fill your need, but not your emptiness." - on Friendship
"And there are those who have the truth within them, but they tell it not in words." - on Talking

I will come up with another best-selling book, until then "Happy Reading".
