Another tea time snack!!
Well, this is another quick snack for breakfast or dinner.
Prep Time : 5 mins
Cook Time : 10 mins
Serves: 2
Recipe Category: Breakfast/Dinner/Evening Snack
Bread - 7-9 slices (brown or white bread)
Onion- 1 big
Tomato - 1
Red Chilli powder - 1/2 tsp (if you want more spicy, add little more)
Garam Masala powder - 1/4 tsp
Turmeric powder - a pinch
Sauce - 2 tsp
Salt to taste
Oil - 2 tsp
Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
Slitted Urad dal - 1 tsp
Curry leaves - 1 sprig
Cut bread into squares.
Cut onions and tomatoes into squares. Cut the curry leaves as well.
1. Heat a tbsp of oil, add mustard seeds, when it splutters, add urad dhal, hing and curry leaves.
2. Add finely chopped onions, green chillies. Once the onion becomes translucent, add tomatoes, turmeric powder and salt.
3. Once tomatoes become soft, add red chilli,garam masala powder.
4. Add bread pieces and toss until bread is well coated with the masala.
5. When you toss the bread, make sure you do not break the bread squares.
6. Add tomato sauce to make it tangy and turn off the flame.

Variations and Tips
- You can add the capsicum, once tomatoes are half-cooked.
- You can add Ginger & Garlic paste also.
- Always opt for wheat/whole grain, don't go for soft breads (made in all purpose flour).
